What a Great Start to our SFLA Fall Med Tour!

This Tuesday, Dr.  Anita Showalter spoke to over 100 medical students at University of North Texas Health Science Center about the challenges and triumphs of being a Pro-Life OBGYN. In her lecture, she proclaimed the importance of being courageous when living out convictions as a physician.

Dr. Showalter also discussed her experience as a medical student when she had to stand up for life in opposition to other resident physicians. She went on to explain that her vocal support for life cost her job opportunities, but opened doors for her later in life.

Dr. Showalter is the Assistant Dean of Clinical Sciences and Chair of Women’s Health at Pacific Northwest University of Medical Science in Yakima, Washington. She is a graduate of Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, has board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and has been inducted into the Osteopathic Mentor Hall of Fame. She promotes the intelligent, sensitive care of women understanding the connection of body, mind and spirit. She also promotes a deep respect for life and life processes that reflect intelligent design.
